    Sean has been working in the Microsoft Education team for the last eight years, and is currently the Director for Teaching & Learning Strategy, Worldwide.  

    Sean works globally with Ministries of Education, NGO’s, education leaders, policy makers, schools and supporting education companies to help them realize the teaching and learning potential of Anywhere Anytime Learning in a Mobile First Cloud First world.

    Sean has worked in education for 16 years as a primary and secondary teacher, school leader, lecturer at undergraduate and master’s unniversity level, and senior project manager for the Queensland Department of Education, in Australia. He managed state-wide initiatives in Queensland, including developing the 1-to-1 student laptop program materials, co-authored the “21 Steps to 21st Century 1-to-1 Success” with Bruce Dixon (now the Design, Deployment Guide), the Technology, Architecture and Furniture Project and the ICT Industry project, liaising between schools and the ICT Industry.

    He co-designed the original Windows in the Classroom program, which has now helped over 800,000 teachers globally to use technology to inspire and empower learners to do things they couldn’t do previously.   He has specialized in sharing global best practices with education leaders across the globe having worked to drive positive change for young people in over 30 countries.  He designed and facilitated Microsoft’s Global Forum Educators track for five years, has facilitated learning for thousands of leaders on how to implement technology in a meaningful way, written numerous papers and articles, including the highly successful book “Innovate: Collective Wisdom from Innovative Schools”.   Sean lives in Singapore with his wife and two young daughters.

    At CM Asia Learning, Puay San leads the STEM education programs, which are turnkey solutions that synthesize STEM expertise from the United States and local education expertise across Asia. The programs entail professional development for teachers that lead to STEM Educator certification and quality curriculums that are suitable for K-12 students.

    Prior to joining CM Asia Learning, Puay San spent 7 years with Microsoft Asia Pacific and Microsoft Singapore in different roles at the Education division.

    When she played the role of the Regional Academic Programs Manager for Microsoft Asia Pacific, she led the Microsoft Partners in Learning program across 12 countries in Asia Pacific. She worked with local Programs Managers to increase technology access for schools, foster innovative approaches to pedagogy and teacher professional development, and provide education leaders with the tools to envision, implement, and manage change.

    At Microsoft Singapore, Puay San focused on running the K-12 education businesses and programs in Singapore, and she was the Senior Manager for Capability Development when Microsoft participated in the Singapore Smart Nation initiative.

    Before Puay San joined Microsoft in 2008, she taught Economics and led a team to teach Project Work at GCE A-level in a school under the Singapore Ministry of Education. She has keen interest in authentic assessment, curriculum planning, educational technology and holistic student development. Puay San attained a master degree at Columbia University, Teachers College and is currently pursuing a second master degree in Early Childhood Education at Wheelock College.
