About
As technology develops, digital technology, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, multisensory technology, and various mobile devices have made it possible for teaching to be conducted anywhere and at any time. Teaching materials have also incorporated diversity. Digital learning originated from distance education, which has been rapidly promoted worldwide since the 1960s. During the pandemic, digital learning and distance learning have become essential skills. In recent years, to adapt to the technological age, the tools and media of educators have become more diverse, and teaching topics have become more topical. Educators can use technology to enhance their skills, add fun and effectiveness to the teaching experience, and design teaching methods and contexts flexibly, which can help to improve students' attention in class and their motivation to learn. As a result, technology-assisted teaching has become an important indicator of the teaching environment today. Digital learning and online teaching are also hot topics that are of common concern in the education community.
The International Conference on E-learning and Educational Technology (ICEET) will go into its thirteenth year in 2024. The conference has been held since 2012, committed to providing a platform for researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and experiences on digital learning and educational technology. The conference also hosts a number of lectures and exhibitions related to digital learning. The ICEET Conference is committed to inviting scholars, teachers, and professionals from all around the world to share their research findings and key technologies in the field of digital learning and educational technology, as well as innovative and diverse teaching applications. These findings help educators respond to the ever-changing environment, practice unique thinking, and develop teaching models that meet the needs of the times. It also helps expand the imagination of new teaching methods, and thereby strengthen the content and quality of teaching, stimulate the exploratory interests of learners, and inject new vitality into the education environment.
Over the past thirteen years of hosting the ICEET Conference, our results have been fruitful. The annual paper submission rate has grown by approximately 1-2%. Other than holding academic journals, forums, and conferences in the field of information and educational technology, we have also collected high-quality books and research publications from Taiwan and abroad, and actively promoted educational reading and planned publications. In the 2020-2022 online conferences, the number of participants surpassed previous records, with a total of nearly 255 scholars, experts, students, and researchers attending. They interacted online to share and discuss the latest research cases in the field of digital learning and technology education, allowing academic thinking and practical experience to be connected, and a more comprehensive and innovative perspective to be developed. In 2023, we finally met with participants from all fields at the Center for Public and Business Administration Education. The long-awaited face-to-face discussions were heartwarming. The results of this conference were very fruitful, with over 200 participants.
Based on the theme of 108 (2019) Curriculum, “Achievement for every child - nurturing talents and lifelong learning,” we decided to work with VEX educational robotics competition to promote STEM education. Since the VEX Taiwan Open educational robotics competition was held, it has helped teachers and students in Taiwan establish over 192 teams, with over 70 schools and organizations participating in the competition. Some teams have also advanced to world-class competitions, raising the international visibility of the results of technology-assisted teaching.
In addition, in response to the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), we have included more sub-topics on Artificial Intelligence. This allows participants to delve into various aspects of AI, including natural language processing (NLP), deep learning and neural networks, computer vision, autonomous driving and robotics, machine learning interpretability, robotics and teaching, computer vision and teaching, as well as other applications in digital learning and teaching. These technologies and fields play a crucial role in the data-driven, automated, and intelligent processes of modern society, contributing significantly to various industries, solving complex problems, and improving people’s lives.
Individuals who are concerned with educational issues and who are in related fields are welcome to register. This includes staff members of education bureaus, educational departments of cities and counties, and staff members of colleges, universities, and K-12 schools in Taiwan.
