Effects of Electronic Workbooks on Students’ learning Attitude and Learning Achievement

▌Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate student’s performance by using different learning system—electronic workbooks and printed workbooks. This research was conducted by adopting quasi-experimental design. The subjects were 52 fourth graders from two classes in an elementary school in Taipei City. The electronic workbooks was divided into three parts: students’ electronic workbooks, teacher-student interaction platform, and teacher management platform. The purpose is to allow students initiative learning in extension of materials, and teachers can instruct them according to history learning recording. After experimental teaching, there was a significant difference between electronic workbooks and printed workbooks. The performance of the former is superior to the latter. Moreover, students had positive and affirmative attitudes toward using of electronic workbooks. They believed through electronic workbooks not only enhanced their understanding of the content but also increased their learning willingness.
