▌Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of online sharing system on self-concept and interactions for students with lower achievement.  In this study, there were three low-achieving students and five general students participating in the face-to-face online sharing system for ten weeks. The Self-Concept Scale for Elementary Students was used in the pre- and post-experiment in the study. Students’ online peer interactions were also analyzed. Three cases were interviewed by the researcher to explore their perceptions for online sharing system.
The results were as follows:
1. The outcome showed that using the online sharing system can enhance three lower-achieving students’ self-concept.
2. According to the results of observations, the peer relationships of three low-achieving students were improved. The result was consistent with the teachers’ observations in their classrooms. There is only one case whose peer relationship did not significantly change.
3. Based on the results of interviews, the three students indicated the positive attitudes for using the online sharing system including the colorful system interface, beautiful images, online live messengers, and mathematical games.
This study supported that the online sharing system is an effective tool for enhancing students’ self-concept and peer-interactions.
