▌Abstract
This study aimed to design and develop instructional computer games of internet safety courses for the fourth graders of elementary schools. The design resolved the difficulty of teachers using existing internet safety software at the teaching site. Through literature review and interview with seven teachers of related fields, the paper attempted to understand the difficulty of using current internet safety software at the teaching site and developed materials based on the induced design principles of instructional computer game materials for internet safety courses. The paper conducted formative evaluation materials through scale and interviewing objects to discuss whether if the course met the teaching requirement from fourth grade teachers of related fields. The study results show that the induced seven design principles of developing materials for the internet instructional computer game include: 1) Building teaching scenarios for stories. 2) Set up clear teaching direction and objectives. 3) Designing different tasks in teaching units. 4) Applying positive game factors in teaching games. 5) Providing function keys to postpone and discuss questions. 6) Implementing teaching method of role play. 7) Designing friendly instructional user interface. The materials met teaching requirement from teachers of related fields.
