Abstract
As Taiwan becomes an aging society, foreign migrant care workers have become indispensable to the long-term care system. However, their labor is often reduced to a functional caregiving role, while emotional labor, cultural adaptation, and everyday strain remain largely invisible.
This study adopts Design-Based Research (DBR) with the ADDIE process to develop “Building Dreams in a Foreign Land,” an immersive virtual exhibition. By combining spatial storytelling, situational narratives, and multi-sensory interaction, the exhibition transforms hidden care experiences into explorable content and offers design reflections for future digital social advocacy.
