Abstract
In this digital era, multimedia production has become an essential skill for students across all fields of study. This study aimed to enhance students’ aesthetic literacy and multimedia production skills by designing digital teaching materials for a multimedia production course. This study then assessed whether students’ aesthetic literacy and multimedia production skills were enhanced after participating in the course activities. The participants were second-year finance and tourism students at an evening division of the University of Science and Technology in Kaohsiung, with 26 consenting students surveyed, interviewed, and tested to collect data. Positive effects were observed: Students’ aesthetic literacy and multimedia production skills improved significantly following their participation in the course. They demonstrated proficiency in using the filming and editing skills learned in class to create videos and could also connect specific images or works to the aesthetic knowledge taught in the course. The results of this study provide a reference for teachers who teach related courses.
