Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore experts’ opinions on the application of digital learning in furniture industry employee education and training. The Ministry of Economic Affairs pointed out in 2021 that the impact of the epidemic has led to continuous growth in domestic consumption, and the demand for furniture sales has subsequently increased. The aim of this research is to identify the demand for digital game-based learning materials for furniture industry employee education and training through expert interviews, and to develop a set of digital game-based suitable for furniture industry employees. The research method adopts a semi-structured interview approach. The subjects of the study are three experts, and the conceptual digital game material content and game design direction are proposed. The results show that digital game-based learning have potential application value in furniture industry employee education and training. According to expert recommendations, in material design, clear delineation of topic knowledge levels should be provided, closely integrated with real work scenarios, and simulate real business life experiences; in addition, the content of game materials should consider current trends in the furniture market, and establish physical reward mechanisms to promote learning motivation. The digital game-based learning materials designed for furniture industry employee education and training in this study cover professional knowledge for work, including four major levels: “furniture production process,” “furniture fabric materials,” “standard service to customers,” and “furniture configuration design.”

In summary, the application of digital game-based learning in furniture industry employee education and training is valuable, and it can enhance employees’ professional qualities and job performance in the future, facilitating learning in employee education and training.
