Abstract
This research aims to explore the impact of elementary school teachers in remote areas on the professional ability of teaching by participating in online communities. The questionnaire survey method was adopted. There were a total of 225 teachers from elementary schools in remote areas of New Taipei City participated in the Facebook online community ” “Teacher Wen”’s Preparatory Party” and “Teacher Shenxian Teaching Network”. The results were analyzed by t-test and single factor variance analysis.
The results were as follows:
1.Teachers’ participation in the online community has a positive attitude towards the impact of professional teaching ability.
2.The influence of teachers’ participation in the online community on the professional ability of teaching is not significantly different due to different background variables (gender, age, and current position).
3.There were significant differences among teachers’ participation in the online community on the professional ability of teaching on the highest degree of education and years of services.
