Abstract

The artificial intelligence chatbot program ChatGPT (Chat Generative Pre-Trained Transformer), which is based on the GPT-3 language model developed by OpenAI, was released on November 30, 2022, sparking discussions within the academic community. This research aims to explore the characteristics of ChatGPT and its application in science education. The research questions addressed in this study are as follows: 1. What are the specific features of ChatGPT? 2. In which science education courses is ChatGPT most suitable?
The research methodology employed involves network data analysis and practical implementation of dialogue training with ChatGPT. The researchers recognize that ChatGPT possesses inherent advantages in processing large volumes of data, multilingual translation, and translation robustness (Jiao, et al., 2023). Consequently, it represents a valuable tool for research and teaching purposes when utilized appropriately.
