Abstract
A picture book is a kind of narrative reading mainly based on pictures and supplemented by words. Because picture books allow children to understand the content of picture books through visual reading, it is easier to attract children’s attention and focus, thereby promoting children’s narrative ability. With the development of digital technology, electronic picture books in the current interactive form have gradually appeared in the market. It adds a variety of media and entertainment to the process of reading picture books, allowing children to obtain richer sensory stimulation and, at the same time, has the advantage of allowing children to imagine. However, there is little practical understanding of the interactive nature of the media used in designing picture books. At the same time, the influence of the media interaction of picture books on children’s narrative ability has not yet been understood. This research studies three different interactive forms of design media to solve the aforementioned problems. These design media include e-book reading form, animation media reading form, and interactive game form. This study invites teachers with experience teaching narrative with children’s picture books to use electronic picture books for food and agriculture education in three interactive forms. Then this study invites teachers to participate in interviews and collects them to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the aforementioned three picture books in teaching based on their past teaching experience. Finally, this study analyzes the data obtained from the interviews to determine the influence of picture book interactivity on children’s narrative ability. Through the research of this research in design practice, it can provide future research and design of children’s picture book researchers and designers as reference knowledge.
