Abstract

New generation are living in a highly media-saturated world and spending large amount of time in the media. Many literatures have confirmed that the information in the media has a potential influence on people’s cognition. Since most people have no realworld experience interacting with autism, many learn about autism through popular films and TV shows. The content and influence of educational information contained in such works deserves attention and inspection. This article sorts out the previous literature and develops a questionnaire as a pilot study of how film and television works describing autism affect movie viewers’ attitudes.
