Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the personal core values of university students by integrating visual thinking into the curriculum. The study used direct observation as a qualitative research method with a sample size of 24 students. Two strategies were employed to guide students’ thinking: mind mapping and the process of synthesizing ideas, which were then transformed into visual results. The study found that (1) visual thinking was helpful for university students to become aware of their personal core values, (2) the thought process of synthesizing ideas provided concrete assistance for university students, and (3) a curriculum for visual thinking could be established. Overall, the integration of visual thinking into the curriculum can facilitate university students’ exploration of personal core values, and it is hoped that this approach can be widely applied in teaching in the future.
