The Effects of Digital Storytelling Strategy on English Learning in Elementary School

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of “Digital Storytelling” strategy on the elementary students’ English learning achievement and English speaking ability. The subjects were 96 4th grade students randomly assigned to different teaching strategies – interactive learning group and digital storytelling group. An ANCOVA analysis was used to compare the different groups of test data. The results showed that: (1) There is no significant difference in English learning achievement between interactive learning and digital storytelling learners. (2) Students who were asked to engage in digital storytelling significantly outperformed the group of interactive learning.
