Can Group Teaching Improve the Study of Mathematics Learning Achievement in Senior High School Students

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explore the impact of a senior high school student’s mathematics ability by grouping the school’s students on general scholastic ability test at Taiwan. The research students are the 105 and 106 school years of a community senior high school in New Taipei City. They are the second and third grade students. The research analyze for each grade of mathematics from the second year of to the first semester of third grade. To analyze whether the high school entrance scores and university entrance test scores have been specifically improved through group teaching. Research statistical analysis discusses: (1) Have the average score of the each stage exams for the third to the fifth semesters of high school improved significantly? (2) Correlation between university entrance and high school entrance examination? And their causality discussion with each other and the achievement of group teaching? In the final results of group teaching were analyzed using correlation coefficients and t tests for high school students’ performance in 2016 and 2017.
