Implementation of Online Teacher Training Courses-Taking an American University as an Example

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to share the experience of implementing online teacher training courses in one university in America. This research data came from the results of the research visiting to the School of Education in Kennesaw State University in America during 2018. The study adopted document analysis and interviews as research methods. The study collected the evaluation indicators of online teacher training courses adopted by Georgia state of America and the syllabus and teaching materials of online teacher training courses as materials of document analysis. The study interviewed ten professors and eight students to collect the perceptions of teachers and students to participate in fully online or hybrid teacher training programs. All the data were analyzed, and the research results were presented from the online course regulation and offering, online course content design, student learning effectiveness, and the advantages and challenges of online courses. Finally, some future prospects were proposed based on the results.
